All samples are collected from UK sources.

DRI always meet a number key principles:

1. ETHICS

To maintain the highest ethical standards in the procurement and use of kindly donated Human Tissue. This includes the way in which patients are approached, questions answered and concerns addressed.

2. INFORMED CONSENT

Patients will be approached to discuss a project where they may be suitable candidates to donate samples.

3. SAFETY

Patient Safety, treatment and diagnosis comes first and biosamples are only ever donated if medical teams believe there is no additional risk to the patient or there will be no impact on diagnosis/treatment.

4. PRIVACY

Donors are never in a position where they can be identified. No identifying information is released from the hospital

5. To offer patients the opportunity to get involved in research

6. To ensure that the samples are put to good use in sensible and worthwhile research projects
